Location

Washington, District of Columbia

Washington D.C. is the grand capital of the United States of America. Brimming with historical significance and magnificent monuments to American leaders, heroes, and freedom, there’s always something to discover whether you’re visiting for the first time or the hundredth. Begin your D.C. tour at the iconic Lincoln Memorial and Reflecting Pool. In its vicinity are Constitution Gardens and memorials for the Vietnam War, Korean War, and World War II. To the east lies the Washington Monument, a sight easily seen from this vantage point as well. Trek northward to visit The White House, home to the nation’s President.

The Jefferson Memorial with its domed and ionic columned colonial architecture is sure to inspire as is the Library of Congress with its multitude of murals and stained glass, marbled facades, and high ceilings. Love museums? The Smithsonian simply cannot be missed. Natural history, American history, art, and even air and space exhibits are compiled here in a delightfully massive complex of several museums. Make it a personal challenge to explore it all! Nearby you can also find the National Gallery of Art, the National Museum of African Art, the National Museum of the American Indian, and more.

Beyond history, D.C. offers exciting natural experiences like the Smithsonian National Zoological Park, the United States Botanic Garden, the U.S. National Arboretum, and the Smithsonian Butterfly Habitat Garden.

Accommodations

The Watergate Hotel

The Watergate Hotel takes bold mid-century modern and classic elegance to bring you an extravagant contemporary luxury experience. This luxury hotel is located along the banks of the Potomac River offering breathtaking views. The Watergate Hotel also holds a history from the time it opened in 1965. It got its name from the Watergate scandal in 1972. Since then The Watergate Hotel has seen many renovations but none that have embraced its original design as it does now. Located close to the Kennedy Center and nearby Georgetown and George Washington Universities, the Watergate Hotel is in a prime location.

Guest rooms feature lavish finishes, sleek furniture, and one King bed or two Queen/Full beds (based on hotel availability) with lush bedding, all artfully chosen with the guest in mind. Other amenities include flat-screen TV, mini-bar, plush robes, umbrella, iron/board, hairdryer, and more.

Dining at the Watergate is like no other. From The Next Whiskey Bar you will be enticed by an intimate setting with a wall comprised of 2,500 illuminating whisky bottles and a menu that not only includes whisky but a cigar selection as well. For modern contemporary dishes the Kingbird restaurant has you covered from breakfast through dinner and beyond. Another favorite is the traditional Afternoon Tea offering lavish desserts and pastries on Saturday and Sunday Afternoons.

The Watergate Hotel is located approximately 5 miles from the Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), about 26 miles from the Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), and approximately 27 miles from the Baltimore Washington International Airport.
